Rahul Sports is tucked away in the Maidan Market area, specifically in the Dr. B. C. Roy Market at E- 2/8-9. If you have ever been to Maidan Market, you know how packed and chaotic it can be. It is a maze of small shops and narrow walkways where you are constantly bumping into people carrying heavy loads. Our shop isn't very large, so every inch of wall space is covered with bats, balls, jerseys, and all sorts of gear. We have things stacked right up to the ceiling, and sometimes finding a specific item feels like a bit of a treasure hunt. It gets quite hot in here during the summer months since there isn't much airflow in this part of the market. We just have a small stool for customers to sit on and a counter that has seen plenty of wear and tear over the years. We spend a lot of our time chatting with regulars who come in to see what’s new or just to talk about the latest games. The noise from the market outside is constant, but you eventually stop noticing it. We open early and stay late, especially during the peak sports seasons when everyone wants new equipment at the same time. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy way to make a living, but we like being right in the middle of all the action. There is always something happening right outside our door in the market aisles.
