Qutub Impex Private Limited (Engine Knives)

Our shop is over at 38E, Maharaja Thakur Road. It’s a bit of an older neighborhood, and things can get crowded on the street. We focus on engine knives, which is a very specific thing to get into. Mostly it is about the steel and the edges. You spend your day looking at metal and making sure things are sharp and the right size. It is not quiet work. There is always the sound of grinding or metal hitting metal. We have been in this spot for a while now. The building is a bit cramped because we have so many tools and slabs of metal lying around. You have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a spare part. We don't have any fancy marketing people here. It is just us doing the work. Some days are slow and we just clean up the workstations, and other days it feels like we can't keep up with the sharpening. People come to us when they need a specific blade for their machinery. We take our time with it because if a knife is wrong, it won't work in the engine. It’s a dirty job, your hands are always covered in grey dust or oil. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing. It isn't glamorous but it is what we know how to do.
