Pushkar Lall & Co.

Our place is at 121, Cotton Street, right in the heart of Bara Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Bara Bazar, you know it’s a maze of shops and people everywhere. Pushkar Lall & Co. has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. Our office is in an old building that has a lot of character, though the stairs are quite steep and it can get very hot in the summer. We are surrounded by other businesses doing all sorts of trading. We mostly deal with traditional goods, and we still use some of the old ways of doing things because they work for us. There’s a lot of shouting and noise from the street below, but we’ve learned to tune it out over the years. We don't have any shiny brochures or a big mission statement on the wall. We just have our ledgers and our contacts that we’ve built up over decades. It’s a family-run kind of feel here, even if not everyone is related. We know our customers by name, and they know us. Sometimes we sit and have tea with them for an hour before we even talk about business. It’s a different pace of life in this part of town. We aren't interested in being the biggest company out there. We just want to keep the shop running and maintain the relationships we’ve had for years.
