P.S.Group

We have been operating out of 12 D Sarat Bose Road in Kolkata for a good while now. The building is one of those older ones that has a lot of character but also some quirks, like the elevator that sometimes has a mind of its own. It’s a busy area and the noise from the street usually drifts up into the rooms while we are working. We don’t have fancy glass partitions or modern art on the walls. Mostly, it’s just sturdy wooden desks and a lot of shelving for all the documents we have to keep track of. Everyone knows everyone here, so there isn't much formality. We start our mornings with the sound of the city waking up outside. There’s a tea shop nearby that everyone goes to around eleven. We talk about the weather or the local news more than we talk about business some days. It is a very Kolkata way of doing things, I suppose. The rain can be a real problem during the monsoon, making the walls a bit damp, but we just carry on. We handle a variety of tasks throughout the week and things can get pretty hectic when deadlines are close. It’s a small team and we all have to pitch in on different things, whether it's answering the door or filing old records. We like being in this part of town because it feels central to everything we need and the food nearby is good.
