Prolite Paints & Chemicals

Prolite Paints & Chemicals operates out of A-2 in the Behala Industrial Estate. Our address is 620 Diamond Harbour Road, which is a very busy stretch of road if you know the area. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other workshops and factories. There is always the sound of metal clanging or engines running nearby. Our unit is basically a large workspace where we handle both the paints and the chemicals side of things. It can get quite hot inside during the afternoon, so we have a few big fans going all the time. We aren't really set up for window shoppers. Most of the people who come to see us are contractors or people who have been using our products for a long time. The floor is concrete and has seen a lot of spills over the years, which gives it a bit of character. We don't spend much money on decorating the place because we are more concerned with getting the mixing right. Diamond Harbour Road is always packed with traffic, so getting deliveries in and out requires some good timing. We usually start our day pretty early before the heat and the traffic get too bad. It is hard work, and your hands usually end up stained by the end of the shift, but we are used to it. It’s a plain, honest way to make a living in Behala.
