Poddar Sons

Poddar Sons is located at 74, Shyambazar Street. If you know this area, you know it’s full of energy and people. We’ve been on this street for quite a long time. It’s a traditional kind of place. We don't have a modern glass front or anything. It’s just an old building where we do our business every day. We’ve got shelves full of stuff and a counter where we talk to everyone who walks in. A lot of our customers have been coming to us for years. We know their names and they know ours. It feels like a family shop more than a big company. Shyambazar is always noisy with trams and traffic, but that’s the charm of it. We open up early in the morning and stay until the evening. We don't have a big mission statement written on the wall. We just believe in showing up and doing what we said we’d do. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things in the corners. It’s not perfectly tidy, but we know where everything is. We don't do much on the internet. We mostly just talk to people face to face. It’s a simple way to run things. We’ve seen the street change over the decades, but we’re still here at number 74. It’s just what we do. We don't spend much time worrying about how we look to the outside world.
