Dies Moulding

You have to go down to Majherhati and look for 18 Rabindra Sarani to find us. We are tucked away in the 3rd Lane, which is a bit narrow so you have to be careful if you are driving a car. Dies Moulding is a workshop where we spend our time making metal parts and forms for other businesses. The floor is concrete and there are iron shavings everywhere because that’s just how this kind of work goes. It is a bit dark inside sometimes but we have big lights over the benches where we do the precision cutting. We have been in this part of town for a while and the neighbors are used to the sound of the grinding wheels and the hammers. It’s not the kind of place where you come for a cup of tea and a long chat, it is more about getting the job done and meeting the deadlines. We have some old machines that still work better than the new ones and we take care of them ourselves. The lane gets a bit muddy when it rains heavily but we still show up and get the work started. There isn't any fancy corporate stuff here, just a few of us in work clothes trying to make sure the molds are exactly right. It's dusty and noisy but it is our livelihood and we like what we do.
