Picasso Leather

You can find us over at 43, Elliot Road. If you walk past our door, you will probably notice the smell of raw leather before you see the sign for Picasso Leather. The shop is not very big, and it is usually filled with rolls of different hides and scraps of material. We have been working with leather for a long time, and we still use some of the same heavy tools that were here when we first started. It is tough work that requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. The lighting inside is not the best, so we often have to move closer to the front window to see the finer details of what we are cutting or stitching. Elliot Road is a busy area, and there is always something going on outside that can be a bit distracting. We do not have a big fancy display case, so we mostly just show people what we are currently working on at the bench. Sometimes a piece of leather has a flaw we did not see at first, and we have to start all over again, which is frustrating but part of the job. We do not spend money on advertising or anything like that. People mostly hear about us from their friends or just wander in because they saw us working through the window. It is a simple way of living, just making things one at a time and trying to keep the workspace somewhat tidy.
