PHILLIPS CARBON BLACK LIMITED

Our office for PHILLIPS CARBON BLACK LIMITED is on the 3rd floor of Duncan House, which is at 31 N. S. Road. If you know that area, you know how packed the streets are. The building itself is one of those older ones that has seen a lot of history. We spend our days dealing with carbon black, which is a material that goes into tires and a lot of plastic items. It's a very fine, dark powder, though we don't handle the actual stuff here in the office. Here, it is mostly about the logs, the shipping schedules, and making sure the factory side of things is running okay. We have these old-fashioned high ceilings and large windows that let in a bit of the city noise. The traffic on N. S. Road is a constant background sound for us. We don't have a modern, open-plan office with bean bags or anything like that. It’s just regular wooden desks and a lot of filing cabinets. We take our tea breaks seriously and usually chat about the cricket scores or the weather. It’s a steady pace of work. We’ve been around for a long time, so the routine is pretty well set. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make sure the product gets from the plants to the customers without too many headaches. It’s just a regular office job.
