Our office is situated in Village Dhosa, which is part of the Joynagar area in South 24 Parganas. We are working out of the residence of Namita Mondal. It’s a very quiet place, tucked away from the main city buzz of Kolkata. To get here, you have to travel through some of the smaller roads, which can be quite nice during the greener months. We have a small room set aside for our work, filled with some basic furniture and stacks of files. It’s not the kind of place that would impress someone from a big city, but it serves its purpose for the local community here. We spend our days dealing with the locals who come by to talk about their savings or whatever they need help with. It’s very much a face-to-face kind of thing. We know most of the families around here, and they know us. There’s a certain comfort in working like this, where you aren't just a number in a system. We keep our records carefully and make sure everything is written down properly. The pace is slow but we are always doing something. Whether it’s answering questions or filing away documents, there’s a routine that we follow every single day. It’s just a small group of us trying to keep things running smoothly for everyone in Dhosa who relies on us.
