Pafex

You’ll find us at 122/D, Manicktala Street in Kolkata. The name of the place is Pafex. It is a typical Kolkata neighborhood, very busy and full of life all the time. Our building is an older one, like many in this part of the city. We’ve been operating from here for quite some time now. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just a doorway and some stairs. Inside, we handle various business tasks that keep us busy from morning till evening. The streets outside are always crowded with rickshaws and people going to the market. Sometimes the noise from the street comes right into the office, but we are used to it by now. We are a small team and we pretty much do everything ourselves. There is no corporate ladder here, just a few of us trying to get the work done. We handle things as they come, whether it is paperwork or meeting a visitor. The office has that old Kolkata feel to it—high ceilings and some old furniture. It isn't perfect, but it’s our space. We don't go for any of those modern management styles. We just talk to each other and solve problems as they pop up. It’s a simple way to run a business and it has served us well so far. We just take it day by day and keep moving through our to-do lists.
