You can find us at Matri Bhavan, number 96 Ashokgarh, right near Dunlop in Kolkata. Nisarg 'E'-3 Foundation is based out of this old building. It’s a bit of a landmark for us, though it’s just a regular house to most people walking by. Being in Kolkata, things are always a bit chaotic outside, especially during the monsoon when the streets get messy. Inside the foundation, it’s a bit more peaceful. We spend our days coordinating things and talking to people who come through the door. We aren't a big office with glass walls; it’s more like a lived-in space where we get things organized. There are stacks of papers and files everywhere, and the tea guy comes by every afternoon. We started here because the location was easy for folks in the Ashokgarh area to reach. Sometimes the internet is slow or the phones act up, but we manage. Most of the people working here are locals who have been around for a long time. We don't spend much on advertising or making things look pretty. We’re more interested in just getting the daily work done. It’s a busy life, and the building has its quirks, like the squeaky front gate and the steep stairs. We’ve grown fond of the neighborhood over the years. It feels like home to us now, and we're just part of the local scenery that everyone knows.
