Our office is at number 12A on Subhas Road. This area is pretty central, and Subhas Road itself has a lot of history to it. We are in an older building that has been around for decades. It’s not one of those glass-fronted modern offices you see in the newer parts of town. Instead, we have thick walls and heavy doors that have seen a lot of years. Inside, there is always the sound of people talking or the rustle of papers being sorted. We have a few desks pushed together, and the shelves are full of files that go back a long way. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. People come in and out all day, and we try to keep things moving as best as we can. Being on Subhas Road means there is a lot of traffic noise, but you get used to the honking after a few weeks. We don't really do much in the way of decorating; it’s mostly just practical furniture and stacks of documents. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting at the computer. The neighborhood has a lot of small eateries, so lunch is usually something quick from down the street. It’s a straightforward operation here at Nirmaan India Ltd. We just show up, do the work that needs to be done, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular workplace.
