Network Leathers Pvt. Ltd. is based at 55 Matheshwartalla Road. If you come by, you’ll smell the leather before you even see the door. It’s a distinct scent that sticks to everything, even our clothes when we go home. The workshop is usually a bit messy with scraps of material on the floor and heavy machines humming in the background. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. They know the leather inside and out. It’s a physical job, and the building reflects that—it's sturdy and built for work, not for showing off. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. Instead, we have shelves and bins where we keep the hides and the finished pieces. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we use desk lamps to see what we’re doing. Matheshwartalla Road is an old area, and our building fits right in. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out or work by the windows. We deal with a lot of bulk orders, so there’s always a stack of boxes waiting by the entrance to be picked up. We don’t bother much with the internet; we’d rather spend our time making sure the leather is cut right. It’s a simple way of working, but it’s kept us going for a long time.
