S. S. Services

You can find us right by the Kaikhali bus stop on Dum Dum Road. It’s a busy spot, always crowded with people waiting for their commute or rushing to the airport. The noise from the buses and the honking is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. S. S. Services is just a small outfit. We’ve been operating out of this area because it’s easy for people to drop by. We don't have a big sign or a lobby with a receptionist. It’s usually just one of us sitting at the front desk handling calls or talking to whoever walks in. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the fan in the corner makes a bit of a rattling sound, but it works. We do our work, talk to the locals, and try to keep things moving. Living and working near the bus stop means we see a lot of different faces every day. It’s a very grounded way to spend the day. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit of a mess, which slows things down, but we just carry on. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished look. We just want to make sure the work we do for the people around here is solid. It’s a basic, honest way to run a business in Kolkata. We have coffee together most mornings before the crowd outside gets too loud and the phones start ringing.
