National Engineering Industries Ltd, Khatipura Road, Jaipur

We are located on the first floor of the Fort Residency building on S.N. Roy Road. It’s a bit of an interesting setup because while the main company is known for the big factory work over on Khatipura Road in Jaipur, this Kolkata office handles a lot of the local coordination and regional bits. The office itself is in apartment 2A, so it feels more like a workspace tucked into a residential area than a massive industrial hub. We spend most of our time on the phones or handling documents related to engineering parts and supply logistics. It gets quiet in this part of Kolkata sometimes, which is nice when you have a lot of technical drawings to look at. There’s a lot of history with the company, but here in this specific office, we just focus on the tasks at hand. We have some desks, a few computers that have seen better days, and a lot of binders filled with specs. It’s a lot of back-and-forth between here and the main plant. Sometimes we have to deal with the humidity making the paper curl, but we just keep the fans going. It’s a practical place to work, and being on S.N. Roy Road makes it easy enough for people to find us when they need to drop off shipments or pick up paperwork.
