Our small office is located at Flat No. 9 in the Nayantara building. It's over in Bijoygarh, right in the Jadavpur area of Kolkata. Most people know the neighborhood because of the university nearby. It’s a residential-feeling spot, so it’s usually quiet enough to get things done. We’ve been in this flat for a good stretch of time now. The rooms are filled with samples and papers. It’s not a massive factory floor or anything like that, just where we manage the paperwork and talk to folks. Jadavpur is a busy place, but our little corner is tucked back a bit. Sometimes the monsoon rain makes the street a bit messy, but we manage somehow. We aren't doing anything complicated with the decor. It’s just desks, some chairs, and plenty of files. We know our neighbors in the building quite well. Sometimes we share a tea or just say hello in the hallway. It’s a practical way to work. We don't have a big reception desk or a sign out front. You just come to the flat and knock. We deal with the ceramics side of things from here. It's steady work. We like being in this part of town. It feels like home to most of us who work here. We just keep our heads down and do the daily tasks that come our way every day. It’s a simple life for us.
