Our Kolkata branch is located on Baishnabghata Lane. We are in the Amrapali Green building, specifically Flat 1A on the first floor. It’s in the 700047 area of West Bengal. Being in an apartment building means it’s a bit more low-key than a downtown office. We like it because it’s a bit quieter, though the city is always humming in the background. We are part of Jaiprakash Associates, and this is where we manage our activities in the eastern region. The office is full of files and maps. We spend a lot of time looking at project details and talking to people on the ground. Kolkata is a city with a lot of history, and you can feel it even in our little corner of the building. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most people who need us already know where we are. It’s a small group of us working here. We handle the paperwork and the headaches so the construction sites can keep running. Sometimes we have tea together and talk about the weekend, but then it's back to the ledgers. We don't try to sound like a big corporate machine. We’re just a bunch of people trying to keep things organized. It’s regular, honest work and we don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. We just stay busy and try to make sure everything is in its place. There is traffic in this part of town, so we stay put mostly.
