You can find our office at 398 Rashmoni Bagan in Santoshpur, Kolkata. It’s a part of the city that still has a lot of old charm. Our building has been here for years, and we’ve occupied this space for a long time too. We work on power projects, so our desks are usually covered in technical drawings and thick binders of reports. It’s not a modern, glass-walled office. We have wooden furniture and ceiling fans that keep the air moving. There’s a small area where we make tea, and that’s where most of our breaks happen. We don't have a professional cleaning crew that comes in every hour, so it looks like a real workplace where people actually spend time. The staff has been around for a long while, and we all know each other’s families. Santoshpur can be quite congested with traffic, especially near the market area, but it’s a nice place to be. We don’t really do any big advertising. Most people find us through word of mouth or long-standing connections. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall. We just show up and handle the engineering and project details as they come. It’s a quiet, steady kind of work life. We like the neighborhood feel of this place. Sometimes we just sit and talk about the old days in Kolkata while we wait for a phone call to come through.
