Our place is in Howrah, over at 6 No. Madhusudan Pal Chowdhury 1st Bye Lane. If you are looking for us, ask for Saikat Das’s office. It’s a bit of a maze in these lanes, but that’s just how West Bengal is built. We are tucked away from the main road, which is actually a bit of a relief from the heavy traffic. The building is an older one, and our office has that lived-in feel to it. We deal with cement manufacturing, so as you can imagine, things aren't always sparkling clean, but we keep our files in order. There are stacks of ledgers and sample blocks scattered around. It’s a small group of us working here, and we’ve all been together for a long time. We spend the day talking to the plants and making sure the supply is reaching the distributors. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just open the windows and keep going. It’s not a high-tech setup, just some sturdy desks and old chairs that have seen better days. We like the local vibe of the bye lane. There is a small market nearby where we get our snacks. It’s a practical place for a practical business. We don't need much more than a working phone and a place to sit to get our work done. Every day brings something new to deal with.
