Mr. Ashis Beriwala

Ashis Beriwala set this place up on Keshab Chandrasen Street in Kolkata. We are at number 69. It’s an old building, like many in this part of town. The street outside is always noisy with people and rickshaws going by. Inside, things are a bit quieter. We’ve been operating out of this room for quite some time. It’s not the biggest space, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need. There are stacks of papers and old ledgers around because that’s just how we work. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us making sure the business stays on track. Kolkata can get very hot in the summer, so we have the fans running all day long. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or find something else to do. We know our neighbors well, and they know us. It’s a tight-knit area. Mr. Beriwala is usually sitting at his desk near the window. He likes to keep an eye on things. We don't put much stock in looking fancy or having a glossy website. We just want to get the work done and go home. If you need us, you just come to the door and knock. It’s been this way for years and we haven't seen much reason to change it. Just a simple workplace on a busy Kolkata street that stays open until late evening every single day.
