Monchobi

You can find us over on Baitak Khana Road, near the Amherst Street Post Office in Kolkata. The address is T 96 B, and it’s an old part of the city with lots of character and very narrow streets. You have to be careful walking around because of all the rickshaws and people. Our building is one of those traditional ones, and inside it feels a bit like stepping back in time. We have our workspace set up with some tables and whatever supplies we are using at the moment. It’s often a bit cluttered with various bits and pieces, but that’s just how we work best. The walls are high and the ceiling fans are the old heavy kind that make a clicking sound as they spin. We get a lot of light through the big windows in the morning, which is nice. There’s a lot of noise from the street below, people shouting and horns honking, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We usually have some snacks around from the local shops nearby. It’s not a polished or modern office by any means, but it’s comfortable for us. People sometimes drop in just because they were passing by the post office and saw our sign. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, in this busy corner of Kolkata. It’s a simple life and we like being part of the neighborhood here.
