Mohan Motor Udyog

Mohan Motor Udyog is located at 4 41 Bhuban Mohan Roy Road. We are inside the Simplex Garden area near the East Shakher Bazar in Kolkata, Po Barisha, 700008. The workshop is a bit cramped because we have so many parts and tools lying around. You’ll find grease on the floor and metal bits scattered on the benches, but that’s how a motor shop should look. We don’t have a clean waiting room with magazines and coffee. If you come here, you might have to stand or find a plastic chair to sit on while we work. We handle engines mostly. It gets really hot in the summer, especially with the metal roof overhead, but we keep the big fans going. The noise from the bazar is always in the background. My clothes are usually stained with oil by ten in the morning. We’ve been in this part of Kolkata for many years, so we know most of the regular drivers around here. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track our inventory. We mostly remember things or write them down in a big ledger that stays on the desk. It’s hard work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift, but it’s what we know. The tea stall across the road is where I spend my breaks talking about how the bazar has changed. People come to us with cars that are barely running, and we do what we can. We just listen to the engine.
