You can find Mohan Jute Mills Ltd. over at Palace Court on Kyd Street. We are right near the MLA Hostel, which is a big landmark around here. Our office at No. 2 Palace Court is where we handle the administrative side of the jute business. Jute is a tough, earthy material and that’s pretty much how we run things too. The office has been here for years, and it shows in the heavy wooden furniture and the old files we keep. We don’t have a lot of modern glass walls or high-tech gadgets. It’s a place where people sit down and talk through orders. Outside, the street is usually quite busy with people going to the hostel or the nearby government buildings. Inside, it smells a bit like old paper and tea. We deal with suppliers and buyers all day long. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing. We just handle it one step at a time. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the flashiest mill company. We just want to make sure the jute gets where it’s supposed to go. Many of the staff have been here since they were young. We’ve seen the city change a lot from our windows on Kyd Street. It’s a steady kind of life. We don't bother with fancy presentations; we just show people what we have and let the work speak for itself. It keeps the business honest and straightforward.
