Mobinul Clinic

The clinic is tucked away on Alumudin Street in Kolkata. If you’ve ever walked down Alumudin Street, you know it’s a narrow place with a lot of life packed into every corner. Mobinul Clinic has been here for a while, and we’ve become a small part of the daily rhythm of this neighborhood. It’s not a large facility with many rooms. It’s just a simple place where people come when they aren't feeling their best. We see a lot of the same faces from the surrounding buildings, and we’ve gotten to know the families around here pretty well. Kolkata can be very hot and humid, so we try to keep the inside as comfortable as we can for anyone waiting. There isn't any fancy lobby or expensive furniture. We have some chairs and a desk, and that’s about it. The noise from the street—the horns, the vendors, the people talking—always filters in, but it feels like home to us. We don't spend money on big signs or advertisements because most people just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s a straightforward operation. We open the doors early and stay until the last person has been seen. It’s just the way things have always worked for us on this street, and we don't see that changing anytime soon. We just keep doing what we do for the people.
