Mehta Sanghvi & Co is situated at 134 B R B Basu Road. If you know Kolkata, you know this road used to be called Canning Street, and it is one of the most crowded and busy places in the whole city. Our building is old, like most of them in this area, and it has a lot of history in its walls. We have been operating from this address for a long time. It’s a wholesale area, so the street outside is always blocked with handcarts, trucks, and people carrying heavy loads on their heads. Our office is tucked away inside, and once you get past the noise of the street, it’s a bit more manageable. We deal with various industrial goods and supplies. Our desks are old-fashioned, and we have tall stacks of ledgers and invoices everywhere. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't have a website that we update or anything like that. We mostly deal with people who have been buying from us for decades. There is a lot of shouting and bargaining going on outside, but inside we just focus on our orders. We take our tea very seriously here, and the afternoon round of chai is the highlight of the day. We aren't trying to be modern or polished. We are just a long-standing business on a very busy road, doing what we have always done for years and years.
