Our place is located in Dakhin Para, right on the first lane in Bansberia, which is part of the Hooghly district in West Bengal. It is a typical neighborhood with narrow lanes and houses close together. Being near the river means it gets quite warm and sticky, but we are used to it by now. We handle things for Meghalaya Cements from this corner of the state. It is not a huge facility, just a local point where we manage the logistics and keep track of where the cement is going. You will often see trucks trying to navigate the turns around here or people from the local area stopping by to ask about prices. The office is plain and focused on the job at hand. We have a few desks and some old chairs for visitors. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we are mostly here to make sure the orders get processed correctly. Most of the staff live nearby, so there is a real local feel to how we operate. We have our busy mornings when everything seems to happen at once, and then things quiet down in the afternoon heat. It is just a steady, working-class environment where we try to stay organized and keep the business running as best as we can in this part of Hooghly.
