Our company, Megacity Apartments Pvt. Ltd., is based at 26/3 Satyen Roy Branch Road in Kolkata. It is an old part of the city, and our office reflects that. We don't have glass walls or modern art in our lobby. It is just a practical space where we manage different apartment buildings and projects. The street outside, Satyen Roy Branch Road, is usually full of people, cars, and rickshaws. Kolkata is a crowded place, and we are right in the middle of it. We spend most of our time dealing with maintenance issues, paperwork, and talking to tenants or owners. It’s a lot of boring daily tasks that keep the buildings running. We don't have any promotional slogans or big corporate goals written on the walls. We just try to handle each problem as it comes up. The humidity in West Bengal can be very hard on the structures we manage, so there is always something that needs fixing. We drink a lot of tea and spend a lot of time on the phone. We are a small team and we’ve been at this address for a long time. Everyone in the office knows their job and we don't need a manager watching over us. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we like being part of the local Kolkata community.
