Mbl Infrastructure Ltd has this office at 358C P.T Road in Kolkata. It is Flat No-2A over in Paschim Putiari, which is a fairly quiet area compared to the main city center. We spend our days dealing with various construction tasks and keeping track of our different project sites across West Bengal. Working out of a flat gives it a bit more of a local, down-to-earth feel than those big glass towers you see elsewhere. There is usually tea being made and someone is always arguing about a delivery delay. We have a lot of maps on the walls and plenty of dusty folders from years of work. It gets quite humid here in the summer, but we keep the fans going and get on with the business of building things. Our focus is really just on the logistics of infrastructure. We have to coordinate with a lot of different people, from truck drivers to engineers. Sometimes the paperwork piles up, but we manage to get through it eventually. People in the neighborhood know us as the infrastructure guys. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is necessary. We’ve been at this address for a bit and it suits us well for the kind of work we do. There’s always a lot to keep track of, but we just take it one day at a time.
