Matri Medico

Matri Medico is tucked away on the ground floor over in Aswini Nagar. We are right by the Jagatpur Market, so it’s always busy around here with people buying vegetables and household items. The smells of the market usually drift in through the front door. It’s a practical location for anyone living in the 700159 area of Kolkata. Being on the ground floor is a blessing because people don't have to climb any stairs, which helps the elderly a lot. The space is filled with shelves of medicines and a small corner for consultations. It’s not particularly quiet here because of the market noise, but you get used to it after a few days. We start our day early, setting things up before the main rush begins. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for a few minutes, which is annoying but part of being in a market. We don't have any flashy signs or neon lights. It’s just a plain storefront. Most people come in to pick up their monthly prescriptions or to ask a quick question about a tonic. The fans hum constantly to keep the humidity down. We know many of our customers by their first names because they’ve been coming to this market for years. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just stay open and serve whoever walks in. It's a simple life.
