Our place is out on the road to Dhaniyakhali, near Makalpur. It’s a bit of a drive, but it's easy to find because we are right across from the Amul factory in Singur. We work on power equipment, which means a lot of checking circuits and making sure the machinery is doing what it’s supposed to. It’s not a flashy job, but it’s steady work that keeps us busy every day. The workshop can get a bit cluttered with parts and tools, but we usually know where everything is. We spend a lot of time testing things and making sure they won’t fail when someone starts them up. Being near Singur means we get a mix of local people and folks passing through on the highway. We don't have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just us and the machines. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a repair or get a shipment ready to go out. The noise from the road and the nearby factories is just part of the background here. We drink our tea, talk about the work, and try to make sure every piece of equipment that leaves the shop is actually working right. It’s practical, honest work and we don't try to dress it up. Just a small group of people doing their thing in Hoogly.
