Asian Wood Industry

Our location is No. 187 Maharshi Debedra Road, right on the Nimtala Strand Road Side. Being near the river side means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is nice when you are working with wood all day. We have stacks of timber piled up in the yard and the smell of sawdust is always in the air. It’s a messy business, to be honest. Wood shavings get into your clothes and your hair, no matter how careful you are. We have a few big saws that make a lot of noise when they are running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. We cut wood to size for people who are building furniture or fixing up their houses. Some days we have a lot of big orders to get through, and other days it is just small bits and pieces for local folks. The equipment is old but it works well enough if you treat it right. We spend a lot of time moving heavy planks around, which keeps us busy and tired by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be the biggest wood yard around, we just want to do the cutting right and make sure people get what they paid for. It’s a simple life at Asian Wood Industry, mostly just measuring, cutting, and stacking until the sun goes down over the river and we can finally head home.
