M. M. Co. is located on Galeb Street, right in the heart of Shyambazar. If you know North Kolkata, you know it’s a place where everything is packed together and people have lived for generations. Our little office on Galeb Street is much like the rest of the area—simple, a bit old, and very practical. We’ve been here for a long time, and the neighbors all know us. It’s a busy street, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to park, but that’s just how it is here. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Usually, the door is just open and you can walk right in. We deal with various things and keep our records in old ledgers mostly. It’s not a high-tech operation, just a regular business run by regular people. We don't really have a mission statement or anything fancy like that. We just come in, do the day's work, and go home to our families. Some days are busier than others, especially when the weather is good and people are out and about in Shyambazar. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. It’s a comfortable place for us, and we plan to stay here on Galeb Street as long as we can. It is a tight-knit community and we feel right at home in the middle of it all.
