M A Motors Lalbazar

You have to come up to the third floor of the Mercantile building to find us. We are in Room 5A, which is part of Block E. Lal Bazar Street is always full of life, but once you get up here, it’s a bit quieter. The building is one of those old ones with high ceilings and thick walls. It’s got a lot of character, even if the lift doesn't always work like it’s supposed to. Our office isn't really a place where we put things on display. It’s more of a workspace where we handle all the orders and talk to our suppliers. There are stacks of papers and old ledgers on the tables. We like doing things this way, it feels more personal than just clicking buttons on a screen. The windows look out over the street, and you can hear the tram bells and the shouting from the market below. We spend most of our day on the phone or sitting across from people who have come specifically to see us. We make tea on a small electric heater in the corner when it gets a bit chilly or when we just need a break. It is a very basic setup. We don't have any fancy art on the walls or leather chairs. It’s just a place where we come to work every day. When the clock hits six, we lock up the heavy doors and head downstairs into the evening rush.
