Our place is at 37A Palm Avenue in Kolkata. It is a bit different from the industrial zones because Palm Avenue has a bit of a residential feel to it, though it is still very busy. We have a ground-floor space that we have converted into our main office and warehouse area. It is convenient for loading things onto the small vans that come by. The rooms are a bit dark because of the trees outside, but we like the shade during the hot months. Inside, there is always a stack of boxes waiting to go somewhere. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who handle everything from the initial phone call to the final shipping labels. It is a hands-on kind of job. Sometimes the monsoon rains make it hard to get anything done, as the street can get a bit flooded, but we manage. We have got a small backyard where we sometimes sit for a break. It is not much, but it is nice to have a bit of air. The office itself is full of old wooden cupboards and metal racks. We do not really care about modern decor. As long as we have enough pens, paper, and a working phone, we can get through the day's tasks. We have been operating from this address for quite a while now and the locals know us. It is a quiet, steady way to run a business.
