At No. 534 G. T. Road, things are always moving fast. G. T. Road is one of those places that never really seems to sleep, with trucks and buses constantly passing by our front door. We have been operating out of this spot for a long time. Our shop, Laxmi Narayan, is a simple place where we keep the essentials that people in the neighborhood need. The shelves are high and usually packed with stock, sometimes so much that we have to use a ladder just to see what’s at the back. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights, just the stuff we sell and a counter where we talk to the customers. A lot of the people who come in are regulars who have been shopping with us for years. They know where everything is, sometimes better than we do. We spend a lot of our time checking the inventory and making sure we have enough of the popular items on hand. It can get pretty dusty with all the traffic outside, so we spend a good chunk of every morning just wiping things down. We aren't trying to change the world, we are just trying to run a steady business and be useful to the folks around here. Usually, someone is sitting near the entrance keeping an eye on the street while they wait for the next person to walk into the shop to buy something.
