Lalita Exports

Our place is on the first floor over at 86 Zaveri Bazar. If you know where the Mumbadevi Temple is, we are right near there on Shaikh Memon Street. It’s a tight spot, but that’s Mumbai for you. Lalita Exports has been operating out of this room for a good bit. We handle export stuff, mostly small things that people need sent abroad. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow. It gets loud outside with all the people going to the temple. We don't have a glossy brochure. We just sit at our desks and work through the paperwork and the boxes. My uncle used to run things, now it’s us. We know most of the neighbors around here. It’s a busy market. Every morning starts with tea and a look at what needs to go out. We don’t have a big fancy website with all the bells and whistles. We just use the phone and talk to folks. Sometimes the monsoon makes things slow, but we keep the parcels dry. Zaveri Bazar is a place where you have to be quick or you get left behind. We like it here though. It’s home. The address is 86, first floor, just look for the sign near the temple. We’re usually here until late evening. It’s a lot of work but we enjoy being part of the bustle in this part of town. There is always a lot going on.
