L. G. Balakrishnan & Bros. Limited

The office is on the first floor of 30, Chittaranjan Avenue. It’s an old part of the city, and the building has that heavy, solid feel you don't see much anymore. L. G. Balakrishnan & Bros. Limited has occupied this space for a long time. The windows look out over the street, and we can hear the trams and the honking all day long. Inside, the ceilings are high and the floors are dark wood. It’s a bit of a maze with all the desks and filing cabinets. We aren't really into the modern open-office look. We prefer having our own corners to get the work done. There’s a lot of history in these walls, and you can almost feel it in the old ledgers tucked away in the back. We handle a lot of logistics and coordination from this desk. It’s a busy environment but not in a frantic way. It’s more of a steady, rhythmic pace. We take our tea breaks seriously, usually with some biscuits from the bakery down the road. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just us, the paperwork, and the daily tasks that keep the business moving. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the accounts, listening to the city noise outside.
