Pneumatic Industrial Company

Marshall House is a massive old building on N. S. Road, and finding Shop No. 30/42 can be a bit of a challenge if it’s your first time here. Pneumatic Industrial Company is tucked away in there, right near the Central Bank of India. The hallways are narrow and always smell a bit like old stone and heavy grease. Our shop is full of metal valves, air hoses, and various gauges that we keep in wooden bins. It’s a dark space because the windows are small and high up, but we have some bright tubes on the ceiling that flicker a bit. You can hear the city outside, but it feels far away once you’re deep inside the building. We spend a lot of our time looking through catalogs or checking the threads on a pipe to make sure it fits right. The floors are concrete and stay cold even when it’s hot outside. There’s no fancy waiting area, just a stool or two if someone needs to sit down while we find a specific part. Being near the bank means there’s always people rushing around outside our door, but inside, things move a bit slower. We just handle the industrial bits and pieces people need for their machines. It’s been our spot at No. 33/1 for a long time now, and we have the same neighbors we had ten years ago. It is just a steady, quiet way to spend the day.
