KNOWELL International is based on the second floor of 20 N.S. Road. The building is one of those old ones in the heart of the business district. It has a lot of character, but the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you're not used to them. Our office has been here for a long time. It feels established, with heavy wooden desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days. We do a lot of international trade work, so the desks are usually covered in shipping documents and customs forms. It’s not a high-tech "startup" look. It’s a place where people actually work. N.S. Road is incredibly noisy, but the thick walls of the building help dull the sound of the traffic outside. We have a small crew and most of us have been here for years, so we know each other's routines. There’s a small corner where we keep the kettle and some biscuits. We don't have big corporate presentations. We just get on with the day-to-day tasks of managing shipments and talking to suppliers. Sometimes the work is slow, and sometimes it's frantic, depending on the time of year. We don't try to sound like a giant corporation. We’re just a small office on the second floor trying to keep things moving smoothly.
