West Bengal Working & Helpless Womens Housing Society

We are located at No. 15 Old Kolkata Road in the Chowdhury Para area. Our building is in Rahara, specifically near Mira Road. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main city, which helps keep things calm for everyone here. The West Bengal Working & Helpless Womens Housing Society is more of a community than anything else. The house is an older style, and we spend a lot of time keeping the place tidy and making sure everyone has what they need for the day. There is always someone in the kitchen or sitting out in the common area talking. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or modern decorations. It’s a practical home where we manage the daily needs of the women who stay with us. The road outside, Old Kolkata Road, has its busy times, but Chowdhury Para is mostly residential and friendly. We have a small garden area that needs a lot of work, but we try to keep the plants alive when we have the time. Our office is just a small room near the front door where we keep the records and handle the mail. Life here moves at its own pace. We focus on the chores, the meals, and making sure the building stays in good shape for everyone who relies on it. It’s a lot of work, but it’s our daily reality here in Rahara and we just do our part.
