Kedia Pipes

Kedia Pipes is situated in Palsit, over in the Bhaita area of Burdwan. If you know the roads around here, you know it can get pretty dusty with all the transport moving through. We deal with pipes all day long. The yard is usually full of inventory stacked up, waiting to go out. It's not a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It's a functional space for a pipe business. We have our small office where the records are kept and the phone sits on the desk. Burdwan is a good place for this kind of work. The rain sometimes slows things down in Palsit, especially when the ground gets muddy around the pipe stacks. We've got a small crew that handles the loading and the paperwork. It’s a simple operation, really. We open up early and stay until the last load is sorted. People from the surrounding villages and towns know where to find us. We don't use big slogans or anything. We just have the pipes people need for their projects. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out with a cup of tea. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone’s name. Kolkata is a different world, we are firmly rooted here in the Burdwan district. We just keep moving pipes and getting through the week. There is always a lot of clanging and banging in the yard when the trucks arrive. It's just a regular workday for us here.
