We run Kalagya Properties Private Limited from 18B Ashutosh Mukherjee Road. It’s a well-known part of Kolkata. The building is older but it serves us well. We’ve been here for a while, dealing with all kinds of property things. It’s a simple office with some chairs and a lot of paper. Real estate in this city can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we’ve gotten used to it. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It's just a small group of us at Kalagya Properties Private Limited. We spend our mornings checking listings and our afternoons meeting people. Ashutosh Mukherjee Road is always full of life, which is nice. You can hear the trams and the cars from our window. People stop in when they are looking for an apartment or a shop to rent. We just tell them what’s out there and what the prices are like. There’s no sales pitch or anything. We just handle the contracts and make sure things are in order. It’s practical work. West Bengal has its own way of doing things, and we’ve learned how to navigate it over the years. The office is a bit cluttered but we know where everything is. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way each day. It keeps us busy and the rent gets paid.
