About Kajaria Ceramics Ltd. – Metals & Minerals in Kolkata
Out here on Purbapara Road in Thakurpukur, we've got a decent setup for showing off our ceramics. Kolkata weather can be tough on the building, so we’re always checking for leaks or dampness to keep the stock dry. The shop is at number 28/16. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but we have a loyal set of customers who know we’ve been here. We handle a lot of different orders, some big and some just a single box for a repair. People around here like their traditional designs, but we’re seeing more folks ask for the modern, large-format tiles too. It’s funny how tastes change over a few years. Our showroom isn't overly polished; it feels like a workshop sometimes. We have tile cutters lying around and grout charts pinned to the walls. It’s a practical environment. We talk to the drivers a lot, making sure the deliveries get out to the narrow lanes around here without any breakage. That’s the hardest part of the job, really. Ceramics are fragile until they’re stuck to a floor. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the local football matches when it’s slow. It’s a good group of people working here, just trying to get the orders right and keep the inventory moving. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done and keeps us busy from morning until evening.
