Our office is over in Behala, Kolkata, at 325/1 Mohendra Banerjee Road. Locals call this area Atul Dutt’s Bagan. It is a bit tucked away, but once you find the gate, you’ll see we have a lot going on. We handle construction projects around the city, so there is always a mess of blueprints and project schedules scattered across the desks. Kolkata weather can be tough on building schedules, especially with the heavy rains that turn everything into mud. We spend a lot of time trying to keep the sites moving when the weather is against us. Our team is a mix of older guys who have seen it all and younger ones learning the trade. We don't have a sleek corporate headquarters. It’s just an old building where we get the work organized. You won’t find us wearing suits very often. We are usually in casual clothes, ready to head out to a site at a moment's notice. The neighborhood of Behala is quite traditional, and we like that. We know the people around here and they know us. Most of our work comes from word of mouth rather than any big advertisements. We just focus on getting the foundations poured and the walls up straight. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is satisfying to see a building finally standing after months of hard work.
