K G Electropower Pvt Ltd is situated on the ground floor at 2 Manook Lane, right near the Calcutta GPO. It’s an old part of the city, and the building reflects that. We deal with electrical stuff mostly. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many components and wires stacked up on the shelves. It’s a bit of a maze if you don’t know where things are kept. We spend a lot of time looking at power specs and trying to help people get their equipment running again. It gets quite humid here in the summer, and the fans just move the warm air around, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been in this location for a good while. The neighbors know us, and we know the tea stall guy around the corner quite well. We don't do anything flashy. Most of our days are spent checking inventory or talking to contractors who need supplies for their jobs. It’s not the kind of place where things are perfectly polished. There’s always a bit of dust on the boxes and the lighting isn't the best, but we know our way around the shop. We just try to be helpful and get the orders out the door without making too many mistakes along the way. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, but we eventually sort through the files on the desk and get everything squared away before the month ends.
