Jute Kids

Jute Kids is located at 137/1 on Hridaypur Station Road. We are inside the Soumya Court building, which is right in the Barasat area. It’s a good spot because we can hear the trains passing by every now and then, which kind of tells us what time of day it is without looking at a clock. We work mostly with jute materials, so the shop always has that earthy, natural smell to it. There are rolls of fabric and finished bags stacked up in the corners. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. My wife handles a lot of the design side of things while I look after the daily sales and the people who come in from the station. We get a lot of commuters who stop by on their way home to see what’s new. The lighting in the shop is a bit dim towards the back, so we usually bring the items out to the front where the sun hits the doorway. We have a small sewing machine in the corner that we use for quick repairs or small custom jobs. It isn't a factory, just a small local workshop where we put in the hours. We like being part of the Barasat community and seeing familiar faces every week. It’s a steady pace of life, and we are happy with how things are going here on the station road.
