Junior Engg.

I am Nabyendu Dey and I work as a junior engineer in Kumarghat. My office is essentially a small space I share with Nitai Dey in the North Tripura region. We are situated in the Kailashar district, which is a bit of a distance from the main cities, but we like it that way. Most of my work involves checking on local engineering projects and making sure the technical side is handled properly. I don’t have a big staff or a fancy office setup. It’s just a desk with some old manuals and a few drafting tools. People in Kumarghat usually just drop by if they have a question or need someone to look at a construction plan. Being in North Tripura means we have to be resourceful, as we don’t always have the latest equipment or materials right at hand. I spend a lot of time traveling to different sites around Kailashar to see how the work is progressing. It’s a humble job, but it feels good to be working in my own community. I don’t bother with advertising or trying to look bigger than we are. We just do the engineering work that’s needed. Sometimes the rain in Tripura makes the roads a mess and slows everything down, but we just keep at it. It’s a practical, local life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
