Joy International

Joy International is tucked away at 19 Pollock Street. We are in Room No.5 on the 3rd floor. It’s an old building, so you have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to us. The hallway is a bit narrow and the lighting isn't the best, but once you find our door, it’s a decent place to work. We don't have much room, just enough for our desks and some shelving for our files. Being on the 3rd floor means we are away from the noise of the street, which helps when we need to focus. We deal with international trade, so there’s always someone checking a clock to see what time it is in another country. It's a lot of back-and-forth emails and waiting for replies. We aren't a big operation with hundreds of employees. It's just a couple of us handling the paperwork and making sure the logistics are sorted out. Pollock Street is a busy spot, and sometimes it's hard to even walk down the sidewalk with all the goods being moved around. We’ve been in this room for years and have no real plans to move. It’s comfortable in its own way, even if the ceiling leaks a tiny bit when the rain gets really heavy. We just keep doing our thing, day in and day out, without any fuss or big announcements, just trying to get the job done right before the weekend.
