Being right near China Mandir on Jessore Road means there is never a quiet moment. At Shivam Enterprise, we are situated at No. 879, which is a spot that gets a lot of traffic passing by all the time. The shop itself is pretty straightforward, with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time climbing ladders to reach things or moving heavy crates around the floor. It is dusty because of the main road, so we are always cleaning the counters. We do not have a fancy system for everything; a lot of it is just remembering where we put stuff last week. People stop in because they saw the sign while driving toward the temple. We talk to a lot of different people every day, from delivery drivers to locals living nearby. The noise of the buses and cars on Jessore Road is something you just get used to after a while. Our office area is just a small corner with a fan that squeaks, but it gets the job done. We handle the paperwork and the orders as they come in, trying to keep track of everything in our ledger. It is a busy life, and we are usually tired by the time we pull the shutters down at night, but that is how a small business goes around here. We just show up and keep things moving.
